Robert H. S. Robertson (1911-1999) was a great intellectual, a polymath and a visionary in the true tradition of the Scottish Enlightenment. His ideas were an inspiration to many, and his legacy lives on in the Resource Use Institute. He devoted his working life to applying science to industry and specialised in the creation of new processes and new industries.
